On my first project, I was assigned to make an 80's music player app, and I went wild with it. I love music from this era, and I wanted to capture the feel and flavor of that time. I was just learning Figma at this point, and so i learned much of how to use the platform from this work.
The lesson of the project emphasized the use of familiar UI elements so that users can jump into the interface immediately. The app’s features is something you would see out of other music streaming apps such as Spotify and Tidal. Searching for songs, organizing playlists, and discovering new music is all there.
The “Now Playing” screen offers a classic aesthetic with a button layout reminiscent of old cassette players, as well as the “snow screen” that was prevalent in that decade.
